From May 15 to September 18, 2023, the Communauté tarifaire vaudoise (CTV) is offering - in partnership with the Canton of Vaud - the "Mobilis Evening Card", which enables reduced-price evening travel, while encouraging the use of public transport for leisure purposes. Deployed as part of vaudloisirs.ch, this offer is accompanied by a major communications campaign, supported by all the players involved.

The modal shift towards public transport is an essential condition, reaffirmed in the Climate Plan and the State Council's legislative program, for reducing the climatic impact of our journeys: as a reminder, mobility - of which a significant proportion (40%) is dedicated to leisure activities - currently generates 40% of the greenhouse gas emissions produced in the canton. Using public transport can significantly reduce our carbon footprint, with 20 times fewer emissions produced by train journeys and 7 times fewer for urban transport.

"As we develop our offer, we are also concerned to ensure that it is financially accessible to all our customers. That's why we are continuing our commitment with the Communauté tarifaire vaudoise to regularly offer attractive deals that support purchasing power, while promoting access to more climate-friendly mobility", says Nuria Gorrite, State Councillor in charge of the Department of Infrastructure.

From May 15 to September 18, the "Mobilis Evening Card will enable anyone to travel by public transport for leisure purposes from 7pm until the end of service in the zone(s) of their choice, for the price of a single ticket. "The evening pass is similar to a day pass in terms of freedom of movement, which is unlimited from 7pm, within the perimeter of the ticket purchased. By way of example, an evening round trip is half the price," explains Roland Bonzon, President of the CTV.

Deployed as part of the vaudloisirs.ch campaign, the "Mobilis Evening Card" is being promoted throughout the canton thanks to the support of the 13 CTV member transport companies, the communes and the canton's economic and tourism players. Details of the offer can be found on the campaign website, which also lists numerous leisure activities easily accessible by public transport throughout the canton, as well as promotional offers from the various partners.

The Canton and Mobilis are thus continuing their collaboration, following on from the fare offers available since 2021 (companion card, extension abo day card, weekend abo, duo day card), which to date have enabled 45,000 passengers to benefit from low-cost journeys.
