With the support of the cantons of Vaud and Fribourg, the two fare communities Mobilis and Frimobil are simplifying and improving their zone plans for the December 12 timetable change. Between the Veveyse region of Fribourg and the neighboring canton of Vaud, travel will be easier thanks to an extension of the Mobilis perimeter as far as Les Paccots. Frimobil is extending its coverage beyond Attalens, on the border with Vaud. A welcome convenience for travellers, who are increasingly moving between the two regions.
To encourage the use of public transport for leisure activities - a subject on which the Canton of Vaud and Mobilis are carrying out a number of initiatives, including vaudloisirs.ch - the scope of the Vaud fare community will be further extended to include three tourist routes leading to the Col du Marchairuz, the Col du Mollendruz, the Col du Pillon and Glacier 3000. The attractiveness of the Mobilis fare will accompany the recent reinforcement of services to these tourist and leisure destinations.
