Digitization continues its course, in public transport as elsewhere. On the other hand, there is a growing customer awareness of data protection issues, reinforced by the entry into force in May 2018 of the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The public transport industry has identified a need for action, as transparent, comprehensible and uniform data protection framework conditions are imperative in order to create and maintain passenger confidence.
The Vaud tariff community has therefore naturally joined forces, in order to offer its customers and visitors a clear and comprehensive data protection declaration, in line with the RGPD and Swiss legislation.
